Nevada Reading Week 2016
“Read, Explore, and Discover!”
Monday, February 29th- Hats Off to a Good Book. Wear your favorite hat and help us kick off a great week of reading.
Tuesday, March 1st- School Spirit Day. Wear a Nate Mack t-shirt or the Nate Mack colors (red, white, blue) to show your Mack spirit during reading week!
Wednesday, March 2nd- Dr. Seuss ‘Feet’ Day. Wear your craziest/mismatched socks and shoes on this day!
Thursday, March 3rd- Read My Shirt Day. Wear a shirt with words!
Friday, March 4th-Pajama Day. Wear your favorite jammies to school and cozy up with a good book.
Nate Mack Elementary School invites you to enrich our celebration of Nevada Reading Week, February 29th-March 4th, by volunteering to come to our school during one of the days that week to read a short book or story to a class.
It is important for our students to see and hear that important people in their lives and community read every day.
The time out of your day would be very short and very rewarding. The children would be so thrilled to have a family member come to a classroom and share a favorite story. You may bring your own book or select one from the many books that the classroom teacher will have available.
Be assured that the ultimate goal of this experience is to show our children that reading is important not only in school, but as a skill they will use in their lives.
